Did you know that only about half of schools in the US provide school transportation for their students? You may think of the seemingly ubiquitous yellow school bus, but schools are increasingly unable to provide transport. This is due to a variety of factors including how expensive it is run buses and how for private and charter schools students come from too wide an area for a bus route to make sense.

When no buses are available many parents struggle to get their kids to school and after-school activities as they must juggle work schedules and sometimes sibling schedules as well.

GoKid is helping to solve school transportation issues by providing families with an option when no buses are available. With our GoKid Connect plaform we give schools a way to help parents organize regular carpools and get their kids to class on time. We blog here about our solution as well as other school transportation issues and how smart cities are solving them.
